90 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2005 Catalina is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Carmenere, and 7% Cabernet Franc. Dark ruby-colored, it has an expressive perfume of cedar, spice box (especially clove), tobacco, red currants, and black currants. Silky-textured, the wine has excellent depth and concentration, enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years, and a lengthy finish. This tasty effort can be enjoyed through 2015." |
Color: Deep, intense red.
Aroma: Complex and intense aromas of dark fruit, such as blueberries, cassis, and blackberries that lend tremendous typicity and complemented by a touch of dark chocolate.
Palate: Mouthfilling and highly concentrated wine with firm, ripe tannins and persistent fruit on the finish.
